One platform, four modules

The TerraScan AI modules

TerraScan AI is a single platform for territorial risk monitoring. It analyses the same European data from four complementary perspectives: fire, air, vegetation and water. You switch on the modules you need; they all use the same data.

FireGrid AI

Wildfire risk

Monitors fire weather, dry vegetation, active fires and the exposure of people and infrastructure to wildfires.

Wildfire risk score from 0 to 100 (5 classes: very low → critical)

Input data

  • • Fire Weather Index (EFFIS)
  • • Dry vegetation NDVI/NDMI (Sentinel-2)
  • • VIIRS/MODIS active fires
  • • Land surface temperature (Sentinel-3)
  • • Exposed population and infrastructure

What it produces

  • • Risk map by administrative unit
  • • Alerts and rules (active fire, risk above 70/85)
  • • Executive report for the mayor, county council or ISU
  • • Funding justification (cameras, SVSU equipment)

Who it is for

  • • Town halls
  • • County councils
  • • ISU / SVSU
  • • Forest managers

AirGuard AI

Air quality

Monitors pollution (PM2.5, PM10, ozone) and its impact on public health, especially during wildfire smoke and heatwaves.

Air quality index from 0 to 100 (5 classes: good → very poor)

Input data

  • • PM2.5 and PM10 (OpenAQ)
  • • Ozone O₃
  • • Nitrogen dioxide NO₂
  • • European AQI

What it produces

  • • Air quality map by administrative unit
  • • Public health notices
  • • Report for the public health directorate (DSP)
  • • Public information (schools, older people)

Who it is for

  • • Town halls (public health)
  • • DSP / public health directorates
  • • Schools and hospitals
  • • Citizens

RadarVerde AI

Environment, vegetation and climate risk

Assesses vegetation health, water stress, drought, air quality and climate pressure on the territory, using the same satellite data.

Environmental risk index from 0 to 100 (5 classes: very good → critically degraded)

Input data

  • • Vegetation vitality NDVI (Sentinel-2)
  • • Water stress NDMI (Sentinel-2)
  • • Drought (CEMS/C3S)
  • • Air quality PM2.5 (OpenAQ)
  • • Heat stress LST (Sentinel-3)

What it produces

  • • Environmental condition map by administrative unit
  • • Water and heat stress notices
  • • State of the environment report
  • • Indicators for ESG reporting and green funding

Who it is for

  • • Environmental protection agencies (APM)
  • • Parks and protected areas
  • • Romanian Waters / forest districts
  • • Agriculture
  • • ESG reporting

AquaWatch AI

Flood risk

Assesses the risk of pluvial flooding (surface water excess) caused by forecast torrential rain on already saturated soil, relevant for every locality.

Flood risk index from 0 to 100 (5 classes: minimal → severe)

Input data

  • • 3-day forecast rainfall (MET Norway)
  • • Soil saturation
  • • Recent 7-day rainfall
  • • (planned: river discharge from EFAS/GloFAS)

What it produces

  • • Flood risk map by administrative unit
  • • Torrential rain alerts
  • • Report for the local emergency committee (CLSU) and SVSU
  • • Funding justification (drainage channels, river works)

Who it is for

  • • Town halls
  • • ISU / SVSU
  • • Romanian Waters
  • • Infrastructure operators
Why four modules on a single platform? The same Copernicus, NASA and ANM data (Sentinel, EFFIS, CEMS, CAMS, FIRMS) supports the analysis of wildfires, air quality, vegetation and floods alike. Instead of four separate products with four integrations, TerraScan AI uses a single data collection, a single calculation engine and the same infrastructure; only the interpretation changes.
Important note. TerraScan AI is a decision support tool, built on European satellite data and official sources (Copernicus, NASA, ANM). The scores are prioritisation indicators and do not constitute an official emergency warning system. For operational decisions and for official warnings, the authoritative source remains ANM, INHGA and the emergency response authorities (ISU/SVSU).
