What this means
All four modules (fire, air, vegetation and water) with no licence fee and no time limit. A small town hall has access to exactly the same capabilities as a county council.
There is no “premium edition” where the genuinely useful things are hidden. Everything we develop goes into the platform you use. What you see is everything you get.
Territorial risk concerns the people and property of a community. Access to a clear picture of that risk should not depend on the institution's budget.
This is not a promotion or a short-term strategy. It is how we believe a public interest tool should be built, and that principle does not change.
So how do we sustain the work
Free software does not mean that developing it is free. We fund our work in a simple and transparent way, without locking anything behind a paywall.
For institutions that prefer not to deal with infrastructure, we host the platform ourselves, on a European server compliant with the GDPR and the NIS2 Directive, and we take care of installation, maintenance, security updates and the daily refresh of the satellite data. This service has a cost, and the income supports the continued development of the platform, which stays free for everyone.
Collaborations with institutions and publicly funded projects help us add new modules and data sources. The benefit stays with the whole community of local authorities, not with a single client.
Two options, the same platform
If the institution has its own technical capacity, we make the platform available to you and install it together with you on your server. From then on you look after hosting and maintenance.
We take care of everything: a European server compliant with the GDPR and NIS2, installation, maintenance, backups and data updated daily. You use the platform; we keep the infrastructure running.
